PAPA’S
The only chippy in Scarborough that cooks everything in vegetable oil, instead of the traditional beef dripping and is therefore the only place to get vegan chips in Scarborough. Situated just over Foreshore Road from South Bay beach, Papa’s always has a queue – and for good reason. (Just protect your bag of scraps from the gulls).
Ramshill Fisheries
The go-to for anyone who lives in South Cliff! This is a family run, traditional Scarborough chippy (not for vegans!)

Leeds Fisheries
Munching on together… Leeds fisheries was recently voted ‘the best chippy in Scarborough’. This takeaway is tucked away from the seafront on Eastborough, but there are some benches close by, overlooking a beautiful view of the sea. (Leeds Fisheries only accept cash, so remember to visit an ATM on the way there.)
Mother Hubbard’s
You’ll find Mother Hubbard’s slightly hidden away on Westborough, though it would be a mistake to overlook this Scarborough institution. Its dining room is traditional and wonderfully nostalgic. The atmosphere is comfortable and laid-back, making it a great place for families. But, as their website proudly states, there really is ‘something for everyone’ – including ‘Fish’n Fizz Friday’, a new deal offering a glass of champagne with a medium cod and chips!
North Bay Fisheries
An old favourite for anyone who lives in North Bay and ideally located close to our apartments!
