Bird watching at Bempton Cliffs
Bempton is just 20 minutes away from Scarborough in the car – and this time of year in
particular, it is worth the trip. Spring is finally here which means the Puffins will soon return to
Bempton Cliffs. The birdlife that can be seen from the cliffs is nothing short of breath-taking. The
weather is bracing so pack a thermos, wrap up warm and when you’re not gazing into each
other’s eyes, enjoy a glimpse of nature’s outstanding beauty.
A stroll on South Bay beach and a treat at the Harbour Bar
If you’re familiar with the 90’s rom com ‘Dancing Queen’ starring Rik Mayall and Helena
Bonham-Carter (set right here in Scarborough) you may have spotted that the two lead
characters visit our very own Harbour Bar. The ice cream parlour is well known amongst locals
who grew up here to be an iconic date spot.
Dinner at Eat Me and a film at the McCarthy
Live the 1950’s teenage dream and cuddle up at the movies! The McCarthy is a small, cosy art
deco cinema at The Stephen Joseph Theatre. Appropriately, they regularly show classics from
Hollywood’s golden age – alongside recent releases. Combined with a delicious meal at Eat Me,
this has all the ingredients of a classically romantic date!

Bowling at Olympia Leisure
Whether you’re an ace bowler or you’re adorably terrible – this is undeniably a winning date. The
jukebox is free to use, so you can even set the mood! To celebrate the winner of your game,
you can enjoy a drink on the balcony, which conveniently has a beautiful view of the beach.
Silent Disco at the Tipi
Couples that rave together, stay together – so book ahead for this brilliant night out. The Tipi
venue is a part of the Scarborough Open Air Theatre. Their upcoming event is ‘Ska vs Northern
Soul’ so you can share in the moment together or have a playful dance-off!
