Creative in Scarborough

This little town and its beautiful coastline have been a source of inspiration for artists, both famous and amateur for hundreds of years.

Today, Scarborough is still home to a thriving community of creatives. Whether you are serious
about a particular craft or are a complete beginner seeking a fun new hobby – there are many classes, schools, and workshops to get involved with.

The Art Room

This lovely little art materials shop on Falsgrave Road has much more than meets the
eye, they also have a gallery area exhibiting work by local and visiting artists. Artist and
Art Room owner Delia Prudence runs a variety of workshops and art clubs in their
workshop space. Additionally, they now offer a picture framing and mounting service.
You can book classes with Delia at the Art Room via their website:

recognized and celebrated for their alternative approach to the creative workshop,

well as lots of fun activities for groups and families. Crescent Arts are also the primary
residence of the Scarborough Zine Library and other ongoing projects. Check their

Pints & Pencils

Brought to you by Hannah and Martha from the Mandy Apple Arts Collective, Pints and
Pencils is an inventive take on ‘drink and draw’. Materials are provided and tasks are
set, but the atmosphere is very informal. Focusing more on the fun of taking part than
the creation of finished pieces, making it very accessible for all. It’s also just £1.00 to
participate! Join their next event at Craft on Northway, Tuesday 29th November 7 pm-
9 pm.
