The Secret Wood Festival
In the beautiful setting of Scarborough’s Raincliffe Woods, and run by the Raincliffe community
Trust, The Secret Wood returns to The Showground in our beloved woods following the success
of last year’s festival. Expect wood carving workshops, archery, talks and demonstrations, live
music, storytelling, and handmade trinkets to take home! The Secret Wood is a fun, magical
escape away from the noise of town and full of new things to discover.

The library has just reopened after being closed for refurbishment and has opened its doors
again with a bang! Events include rhyme time and story sessions for toddlers and preschoolers
and writing/poetry workshops for older children. Pop in and chat to a member of staff for more
information on their full programme of events, or follow Our Stories on Facebook to read about
the summer reading challenge.

If you’ve got little ones, then here is another one for you! Celebrate the last remaining seaside
Spa Orchestra in the UK with the Scarborough Spa Orchestra every Sunday from Sunday 30th
July. “These concerts are aimed at introducing young children to music and musical activities.
Sing along, play along and dance along – don’t forget to bring your teddy bears along for an
afternoon of musical fun! Don’t worry if the weather is wet, we simply move inside!”

clubs for 7-15 year olds. They’ll learn the ins and outs of surfing, not just technique but
everything you need to know when it comes to safe sea swimming and surfing. Sounds swell!
